Cloud computing is a new term for a long held concept of computing as a utility, which has only recently emerged as a commercial reality and it is the natural evolution of virtualisation technology, mobility and business development. Yet while it offers tremendous promise, it takes significant effort to deploy, run and manage custom applications. What is needed is on-demand middleware, automatic deployment and run time management of customised applications for small and large business alike.

Ostensibly, the cloud offers increased agility, reduced time-to-market and cost efficiency however security risks, immature technology, and other concerns prevent widespread enterprise adoption of external clouds; epitomized by the multitude of differing interpretations and definitions.

It is in this context that Informa proudly announces Cloud Computing Twenty Ten, one of the first independent cloud computing conferences to take place in Australia.

It will offer an objective, case study driven agenda that will better equip Australian businesses to the burgeoning cloud computing industry. It will seek to disseminate the true meaning of what is means to work within the 'cloud' - technologically, economically and effectively.
